I have had 29 years experience of assessing children and their families as a Local authority Child Protection Social Worker (including briefly as Team Manager), Children's Guardian, and as an Independent Social Worker since 2008 doing predominantly court related independent Social Work assessments. I have substantial experience of assessing families with issues of drugs and alcohol, mental health difficulties, and domestic violence, and working cross-culturally with families from black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds. I speak fluent Punjabi, and can also communicate in Urdu, and Hindi. I also specialise in international assessments internationally (assessments completed in Rwanda, Ethiopia. Clare Mowbray


Clare Mowbray is a self employed Children’s Guardian/Family Court Adviser and Independent practitioner and practice teacher. Clare’s Cafcass work is within Gloucestershire, the independent practice is outside Gloucestershire. Independent work includes assessments in public and private law cases of parents and grandparents etc, assessments of prospective foster cases and file reviews in respect of social services provision. The training of Guardians, social workers and other professionals is carried out through Cafcass and independent assignments. Clare has a particular interest in mental health and adoption issues and markets her own report writing skills course for social workers.

I provide an Assessment Service specialising in Form F, Special Guardianship, Kinship Care, & Art 56 (EU Regs) in relation to the placement of children in Ireland from the UK and other EU jurisdictions. I also provide risk assessment and follow up support and supervision where required. My agency Social Work Solutions Ireland is approved for the purposes of obtaining Garda (Irish Police) Vetting. Terry Madden


My areas of social work experience include practice in a childrens residential home and local authority, with specialist area working with members of the Traveller Community. I started working independently in 2011, preparing court reports on custody and access cases. I am a clinical social work supervisor in Adult Mental Health as well as a Form F Assessor/Foster Family Review Chairperson for a private fostering agency. I have prepared court reports for Hackney & NE Lincs, children in foster care; and for Camden council, best interest, elderly vulnerable adult. I have an interest in foster care, best interest and vulnerable adults. I am registered with Northern Ireland Social Care Council.

Austina McAllister-Yates


I have worked in London, Kent and Surrey Local Authorities since qualifying in 1992. These departments have included the statutory services such as Child Protection, LAC Children, Adoption & Fostering, CIN and Children with disabilities. These families have been from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds eg. African, Caribbean, Asian and Muslim and Christian faith. I was also a Children Guardian from 2006 to 2008 when I left to become a Locum Social Worker. I now work part-time. I have prepared a number of Court reports in my various roles and have a special interest in Parenting and Special Guardianship Assessments.
