Improving Practice in Analytic Report Writing

London, Friday, 08 June 2018 in London.  Assessment in social work reports is more than telling the story. Analysing what information means, evidencing and drawing hypotheses is the key to good practice in social work assessments.  Research indicates that both practitioners and their managers are often not satisfied with the quality of analysis contained in the written work of social workers.

This workshop will look at what makes analysis a different process from information gathering and focus on the skills involved in attributing meaning to a narrative. The approach will be experiential and involve constructive peer review. There will be extensive use of video as source material on which the analysis will be based.

Course venue:  The National Council for Voluntary Organisations, 8 All Saints St, Regents Wharf, London N1 9RL
