'CONTACT - More Challenges'

The juxtaposition between Domestic Violence & Parental Alienation in assessments aiming to settle appropriate contact - what are the issues to inform our assessments in complex situations?  This Conference will be offering the opportunity to evaluate reasons behind a parent refusing contact.  There is mounting pressure on the Courts to adjudicate, in increasingly complex situations.  Is there significant Domestic Violence, in the context of government giving greater weight to the seriousness of DV in families?  Or is there possibly parental alienation, in which a parent seeks falsely and powerfully to discredit the other parent?

Chair of the conference:  Mark Twomey QC, barrister and joint head of Coram Chambers

Speakers include:
Prof Dr E Asen, Consultant child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist part-time at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families in London.
