NAGALRO
has received the amended contract for self- employment
and that for employment which have been sent out by CAFCASS for
consultation before 14 June.
We
are taking all necessary steps to consider the contracts as a matter
of urgency and will be writing to members after our Council meeting on
21 May.
We
welcome your initial comments and queries about the contracts and
would ask that you cite the clauses that you
are referring to when you contact us.
We
would suggest that members who have not already done so, consider
having meetings prior to 14 June in your areas. If you require
assistance from NAGALRO in doing this, please contact the office.
These
are documents for consideration only; you are not being asked to sign
anything now.
THE
NAGALRO CONTRACT
The
NAGALRO contract that was sent to Evershed's on 17th April can be
found in Documents Section of this website. Neither council
members representing NAGALRO nor our solicitors have had any response
in writing to these proposals, nor has NAGALRO or its legal
representatives been invited to a negotiating forum about this
contract. Of course, our legal representatives will attempt
once again to open negotiations on NAGALRO's contract, which is based
on hourly fees, and which meets the requirements for self employment,
as well as offering self employed contractors greater parity in their
relationship with CAFCASS.
We
will be sending all members legal advice early next week, setting out
the reasons why the amended self employed contract and the employed
contract are not acceptable.
We will be sending all those who are not on email hard copy of the
NAGALRO contract with our advice next week. If any member
requires one in the meantime, please download a copy for them,
yourself, or ask them to contact Karen Harris directly.
Remember, these contracts are for consultation only and no one is
expected to sign anything now.
For
those self employed members who have not yet joined our Smartgroup,
please contact Karen Harris to do so as soon as possible.
